The invaluable lessons I have gained have shaped who I am as a person, and as an employee and professional. I am so grateful and thankful for the time and experience with each business I met along the way, and am looking forward to my next journey!" Morgan Martin, Events & Program Coordinator expressed.
You heard that right, our very own Event & Programs Coordinator, Morgan Martin, is leaving our nest to continue to pursue her lifelong dream of attaining a Masters in Education. Morgan was accepted into the Black Hills State University's Program SECOND, known for allowing working professionals the opportunity to train and transition into the education sector. The program, primarily an online platform, has a heavy push toward hands-on practicum and internship experience, which Morgan is grateful to gain.
"I have dreamed of being a teacher since I was little. Every summer I would line my stuffed animals up, make lesson plans, and use old equipment from our local school that was handed down to teach a lesson. It's always been something I've aspired to do, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to engage in the education sector of our community!"
Many of you recognize Morgan through her work planning and executing the many programs and events the Chamber hosts, or even in your inboxes providing Chamber updates. Additionally, she has facilitated programs such as Bizlink, Cheyenne Professional Network, Cheyenne Christmas Parade Committee and the Chamber Business Council. She is also a recent graduate of the prestigious Leadership Cheyenne program, and was the sponsorship chair for the annual Boo-tification Ball class fundraiser.
"It is important to me to retain what I've learned at the Chamber and to instill life skills in the students I can engage with. I continue to strive at bettering our community, and am excited to be a cheerleader of the Chamber as I work alongside them in my personal business, Emma's Old Time Photos. I am also intrigued and excited to learn this new field and see how it applies to the Talent Pipeline Management program!"
Morgan's last day with the Chamber will be Friday, December 14th, as she prepares for a transition into the classroom for continued learning opportunities. She is looking forward to being placed in a Laramie County school for her student teaching, as well as working in a Laramie County school as she teaches Family Consumer Sciences to students in our community.
