Business Development & Relations Specialist


Position Overview: Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce is currently seeking a highly motivated Business Development & Relations Specialist to advance and strengthen relationships with business partners. The individual selected for this position will be joining an energetic team of dedicated professionals who are serving the greater Cheyenne business community.


Ideal candidates excel at building relationships, are driven by performance-based goals and have experience developing strategies focused on consistent achievement. The role of Business Development Specialist requires a commitment to sustained integrity and excellence, as well as having a deep impact on our community.


Required Job Qualifications:


Preferred Bachelor’s Degrees: liberal arts, political science, business, communications, marketing, or related field

  • Minimum of 3 years full-time professional experience in project/office management role

  • A demonstrated ability to engage and effectively communicate with diverse audiences

  • Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date

  • Ability to travel and work non-standard hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends

Essential Duties Job Duty

  • Maintain and deepen current relationships with partners to generate support around Chamber initiatives

  • Engage and maintain a professional presence with business associations and groups as a part of prospecting and relationship building

  • Promote and sell Chamber event and opportunities to existing business partners

  • Advance the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce brand to businesses, and assisting businesses in meeting their independent goals through Chamber offerings

  • Collaborate closely with other Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce Divisions to maintain alignment between the business needs of our community

  • Serve as a professional liaison between business partners and elected officials

  • Maintain a presence in the community by participating in community associations and chamber related events

  • Meet performance goal expectations and prepare regular reports of results regarding retention of investors

  • Work autonomously within a strategic plan set by the Chamber Board for placement and business engagement to ensure the Chamber achieves program goals

  • Prospect, re-engage, and conduct outreach to build relationships with potential partners, including in new sectors among current investors

  • Other related duties as assigned within the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce business operations and processes

  • Occasional evening work required

  • Proven ability to effectively network with others and build and manage client relationships

  • Independent, creative and strategic about making connections

  • Dedicated to achieving excellent results while maintaining a team attitude in an evolving, fun and energetic workplace

  • Knowledge of the greater Cheyenne area business community

  • Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills

  • Must have proficient computer skills and experienced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google products and various social media platforms, with ability to adapt to new equipment and technology

Job Type:

Full-time Schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with some evening work required monthly and special events.
