Keep Riding with the Chamber

The community came to honor important areas of Cheyenne's heritage at Pardners N' Prosperity on Friday, July 17th.

The luncheon was presented by Tyrrell Auto Center and was held at the Outlaw Saloon. A live performance from Bob Mathews kicked off the afternoon. Remarks were provided by Senator Mike Enzi, Governor Mark Gordon, First Lady Jennie Gordon, and Mayor Marian Orr. Unfortunately, Senator John Barrasso had a prior commitment and was unable to join in person; however, he sent his regards and wrote a letter for the Chamber to share with the audience.

Matthew Idler Photography captured the event. Idler also generously donated an 8x10 inch "Keep Riding" canvas print as a giveaway item.

Lunch was prepared by a variety of food trucks, including 307Q, Taco Johns, Tortilleria La Paz, Fat Howard's Chili Company, Mile High Fries, Wandering Waffle, and Butler Dogs. A variety of farmer's market vendors also set up shop at the event. These vendors included Wyfresh, Horsecreek Market Garden, Butterbarn Farm, Windswept, Happyjack Harvest, Growley Bear Bakery, Madd Batter Cake Emporium, Circle A Artistry, Noam's Table, and Rawhide Studios.

At 1:00 p.m. attendees were instructed to hold onto their hats because, for the first time ever, the Chamber hosted a bull riding fundraiser – right smack in the middle of a Chamber lunch.

Back in March, when the COVID-19 outbreak disrupted our lives and our business communities, Forward Greater Cheyenne and the City of Cheyenne partnered to provide financial relief to those in need. The Greater Cheyenne Relief Fund was created at that time, to provide aid for Laramie County Residents. The Chamber enlisted brave souls who were volun”told” by the Chamber Godfather himself, Dennis Humphrey, that they would be bull riding for this great cause.

Steve Price moderated the event. He shared that this was not his first rodeo, but for some of our business partners it was. Five lucky business leaders were chosen to demonstrate new-found skills. Steve led the crowd to the "outdoor" portion of the party for a little rodeo. Attendees then placed bids on their favorite teams during a live auction. The event raised $1,550 for COVID-19 relief.

Bull riding teams were comprised of a coach, professional bull rider, and business rider. Teams were as follows:

TEAM 1 - 1ST PLACE WINNER Dennis Humphrey, Seth Glause, Ray Gallegos TEAM 2 Clay Sullivan, Austin Rowley, Dallas Tyrrell TEAM 3 - 3RD PLACE WINNER Bill Vossler, Chase Vossler, Domenic Bravo

TEAM 4 - 2ND PLACE WINNER Butch Cathcart, Conner Cathcart, Tanya Keller TEAM 5 Pugs Goodwine, Hayden Humphrey, Luke Sarne

Bull riding was judged by Jeff Gardner and Tim Bath. Team 1 was awarded 1st Place, Team 4 took 2nd place, and Team 3 took 3rd place.

Pendleton donated 2020 Limited Edition Montana Silversmith belt buckles to the riders. The Chamber would also like to say a special thank you to the team at Wyoming Downs – they will be donating custom Carhartt champion vests to the first place winners.

The Chamber also received donations from community members to keep attendees safe during the event. The City of Cheyenne and Mayor Marian Orr donated 600 masks and Pine Bluffs Distillery donated a gallon of hand sanitizer. The day was made possible by the Chamber's sponsors and volunteers. Special thank you to each individual who dedicated their time and made this event so special.
