Leadership Cheyenne Class of 2018-2019 Donates $16,752 to the Cheyenne Greenway

Tuesday, December 10th the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Cheyenne Class of 2018-2019 presented the Greater Cheyenne Greenway with a check for $16,752.00.

The donation was raised during the Cheyenne Wizard of Boo-Ball presented by Red Lion Hotel & Conference Center and will be applied to way-finding signs along the Cheyenne Greenway.

Eight priority wayfinding signs will be installed at each t-intersection along the Greenway with each sign being approximately 3'x3' in size, indicating direction and distance to the nearest point(s) of interest.

At present, the Greenway system includes roughly 37 miles of separated, paved trails that were initially envisioned as a continuous loop around the City of Cheyenne. According to the City, nearly 96 percent of residents live within one mile of the Greenway.

This project is derived from Initiative #2 of Forward Greater Cheyenne's strategic plan to make Cheyenne a more prosperous and vibrant place to live, work, and do business. Forward Greater Cheyenne presents a series of eight strategic initiatives that are designed to help Greater Cheyenne achieve its vision for the future.

The Leadership Cheyenne program has raised over $1.8 million for community beautification since its inception in 1985. Past projects have included bronze installations for public art, utility wraps, landscaping, trees, Airport Fountain Restoration, and many others.
