Shop Small Business Saturday is Back!

The Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce is overjoyed about this upcoming Shop Small Business Saturday. There are two reasons why we are so excited about this event.

1) We love to celebrate our local businesses and all that they have going on in the community. By businesses registering to be a featured Shop Small Business Saturday Participant they will receive:

  • Social Media shout-outs featuring your BIG PLANS

  • Featured in Shop Small Business Saturday Press Releases

  • Cheyenne Christmas Parade Website.

  • Access to Shop Small Business Saturday marketing materials and swag

2) Showcasing these same businesses during the Christmas Parade following the shopping festivities is a BLAST! Shop Small Business Saturday Participants often participate in the Cheyenne Christmas Parade in 3 different ways.

  1. Elect to volunteer at a Street Corner and receive prime vendor space along the route for additional sales and/or promotions. Volunteers are vital to the parade!

  2. Shop Small Business Saturday Participants will Sponsor the Cheyenne Christmas Parade to keep this annual tradition an anchor for the community and also then become a Christmas Parade Float in the parade.

  3. Businesses will order Christmas Parade Poinsettias for clients as gifts and many will even volunteer to deliver them. Poinsettia proceeds help to keep the parade a safe and fun family event. Order your poinsettias today!

We encourage you all to celebrate this year's start to the holiday shopping with a BANG! The Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce cannot wait to promote your Shop Small Business Saturday festivities and to help prepare you we have recommendations for what else you can do to make it a successful event:

  • Offer food and refreshments in your establishment to help keep a fun and festive feel. Even the non-shoppers in toe will appreciate you.

  • Setup your hours for the Shop Small Business Saturday to be a certain block of time to create urgency. Businesses in the area have seen great success in hosting a different deal every hour and will see returning customers throughout the day.

  • Supply customers who make a purchase with you a coupon and/or promotional details for the coming weeks. This too will help develop returning customers.

  • Capture the contact information of your shoppers. Some businesses will host a drawing where they have an entry form to fill out, others will make this a part of their check-out process. This too will help you to bring new customers into your business once again following Shop Small Business Saturday.

For more tips or ideas, please call the Chamber. We are happy to help you and supply you with best practices. We want you all to have a very successful holiday season for your business.
