Each year, we recognize an individual whose dedication, integrity, and courage embody the true spirit of our state.

This year, we are proud to honor Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal as our 2025 Circle of Champions inductee!

A Wyoming native through and through, Dave Freudenthal’s journey is rooted in service and commitment to his community. From his early years as an economist with the Wyoming Department of Economic Planning and Development, to serving as Governor Ed Herschler’s state planning coordinator, his career has been marked by thoughtful leadership and an unshakable focus on Wyoming’s people.

After earning his law degree from the University of Wyoming, Freudenthal built a thriving law practice in Cheyenne, representing both individuals and businesses. His leadership extended well beyond his law office—he served as U.S. Attorney for Wyoming, chaired the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce, and contributed his expertise to countless boards and organizations shaping education, economic development, and community well-being.

In 2002, Freudenthal was elected Governor of Wyoming, a role in which he carried forward his lifelong commitment to hard work, honesty, and courage, the very values that define Wyoming’s spirit.
